My brand new album for 2019 is ‘Headscarves & Hurricanes’, 11 songs which tell the story of Hull’s fishing community set against the backdrop of the 1968 Triple Trawler Tragedy and the subsequent campaign by the Headscarf Revolutionaries to change maritime safety law.
It was written and recorded in between February 21st and March 22nd 2018 with Rebekah Findlay‘s fiddle, and a magical performance from Commoners Choir added later in the year.
The album was inspired by Brian W. Lavery‘s book ‘The Headscarf Revolutionaries’, which is highly recommended as background reading on the subject.
Knowing this was pretty niche, I have also recorded an 8-track EP entitled ‘The Past Won’t Last Forever’ to be released simultaneously on January 1st, so there’s something new out there for everyone.

The two CDs cost £15 including postage etc.
